Our Mission

Project Rebound is a special admissions program assisting formerly incarcerated individuals wanting to enter  California State University campuses. The program offers special admissions for men and women who have unique educational backgrounds and limited understanding of basic qualifications for university acceptance because of inadequate advising, application deadline, and minor academic deficiencies. This expansion process is supported by a conglomerate of California State University Presidents, The California State University Chancellor, The Opportunity Institute, the Associated Students, Governor Gavin Newsom,  and forward thinking faculty and staff throughout the state of California who have now become members of the Executive Committee for the state program.

By establishing a connection with the program, transitioning students can provide themselves with the opportunity to benefit from the resources and support services that the university will make available to them to ensure their well-being and success as students. For example, program participants will have access to academic counseling, tutoring, and high tech support from staff that have the experience and knowledge to truly help with the transition to higher education.
